Its been over a month and I still havent received my birth certificate. This is *** I received my Social Security card sooner than my birth certificate card, but it still took quite a while for me to get that. I would not recommend vital check.

In general.
I do not agree with your rating score. I easily ordered the product that I was wanting.
The speed of processing was exceptional. The only issue I have is with the US mail taking so long to deliver.

Mixed service
- Delivery was mixed; half the orders arrived within a week.
- Strict name rules caused cancellations; a state representative approved an exception.
I've ordered from VitalChek for several documents, and my experience was "mixed." Unfortunately, because VItalChek is the only way to order a Vital Record for many states, their service is hard to avoid.
The Good:
I submitted my order w/my documents, and the document I ordered arrived within a week. This happened in about 1/2 the cases.
The Bad:
I submitted my order, but they had such strict rules on what names could appear on what documents to prove entitlement to obtain a document (some old documents had first names, some had middle names, and the documents that would have made this clear weren't' considered acceptable to VitalChek -- census records and obituaries).
VitalChek wasn't at all clear about why the order was canceled, they just canceled.
I finally spoke to a human at the specific State agency (not VitalChek), explained what had happened, and he approved the exception.
The Ugly:
Submitted an order, all documents in order, order approved, then sent via UPS, who promptly lost my package. It took three weeks for UPS to find my package and get me my vital record.

Misprint
- I received my order, but the birth certificate print is misaligned.
- The first letters of the parents' names and other entries are positioned too high.
I needed my original birth certificate and while I did receive my order the print on my birth certificate appears to be out of alignment and it actually looks fake and does not appear to be an original. The first letter of my parents names as well as other entries has the first letter inappropriate positioned well above all other letters.

Received damaged
- Birth certificate arrived in a damaged envelope with no protective sleeve.
- Suggest using plastic sleeves for mail-in documents; I'll use the copy and hope it's acceptable.
I received my birth certificate in a manila envelope via USPS. Upon arrival, I noticed the envelope was severely damaged.
When I opened it, I noticed my birth certificate was there and damaged as well. I removed it as carefully as I could as there was no protective sleeve. It was just the certificate.
I would suggest placing these items in plastic sleeves in the future. I will attempt to use this one as is and hope it's acceptable.

Important Documents Ordered
- Second VitalChek order; both orders were good.
- A staff member quickly corrected an error; documents arrived on time, and I would recommend VitalChek.
This is the second time that I have ordered documents through VitalChek. Both of my experiences with this company were good.
The second one was especially good because I had made an error on a document that I submitted. I immediately contacted the company. The lady I spoke with, was right there by her computer and saw my document had been ordered. She was able to correct my error before sending the documents out for processing.
I would certainly recommend this company. And yes the documents (both times) arrived earlier than expected.

Quick delivery

I ordered a long form both certificate from [GEOGRAPHIC_DATA] and it arrived in less than 48 hours. I paid for expedited shipping.
My only complaint is as that there was no option for long/short form. The options given were for what the birth certificate was needed for.

Never got my order
I ordered my certificates on May 30th or so and th expected date was June 22nd. I was notified that my order was shipped out but I never got it.

Pretty good turn'around
- Birth certificate order failed due to mismatch Kerry/Kerri.
- The marriage certificate contains the birth info.
- Cardholder name should not affect orders.
The one thing that was annoying was that I had to go to the dropdown box and find an option that would result in the type of birth certificate I needed/,wanted, which was the long form -- birth vault certificate. The consumer should have the CHOICE up front as to whether he wants the short form with parentage or the long form, the birth vault certificate. This should be changed
Changes needed. My mom wanted a copy of her birth certificate.
As her birth name is [PERSON_NAME], but the first name on her credit card is her long-used legal name, [PERSON_NAME], which is an accepted legal variation of her birth name, she couldn't order online. She could have uploaded her marriage certificate, which has all the information from her birth certificate. This needs to be changed.
She used to order online with no iissues. Why should it matter, anyway, whose credit card one uses to order a document?
