Vitalchek - Double-billing, failed customer service
It took vital-check two months to advise they could not find a death certificate.I then received a letter from them stating a refund minus their fee would be credited to my credit card.
Nothing was credited. I then queried their customer service in writing. It was obvious that customer service did no research, and provided the canned response that no refund would be forthcoming. Worse, on my own I found the death certificate location in 2 minutes by calling the state records section directly.
I sent in a money order, and received the certificate, but the bill was paid to Vital Check at a higher rate than what was posted. This is called double billing, and many unscrupulous companies do this.
This company is shameful.Avoid them at all costs.
